►Ocean Energy Chief: No Idea When Gulf Drilling to Resume

EXCERPT:

Those rules, Bromwich explained, will impose a “significant number” of new technical mandates on oil companies that want to drill in America’s deep waters. The new regulations would not come as a surprise to the oil and gas industry, he said, because BOEMRE has been keeping oil companies abreast of its deliberations throughout the summer.

However, Bromwich said he did not know how the new regulations would affect the industry, admitting that he had not checked to see which companies could comply and which ones could not.

This is infuriating. It is criminal. It is unnecessary.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Obama and his radical environmental special interest group to take a giant leap at eliminating oil in their quest for alternative energy.

It is a bureaucratic ambush by the Obama administration to put enough pressure on the oil companies so that they would have no other choice but to close up shop in the gulf and move their rigs elsewhere.

That is all this is about. It has nothing to do with safety. Drilling has been going on safely in the gulf long before Obama was given a free ride in this country from his education to the presidency. He is licking his chops.

Once the oil companies move out, they are not coming back. The regulations Obama wants in place are to be sure of that.

The dirty little secret is that the gulf states are red states that did not, and will not, support Obama. This is Obama getting even with Jindal. This is Obama appeasing his liberal base and environmental leftists.

All at the expense of hundreds of thousands of jobs, and a deliberate destruction of the gulf coast economy.
